Getting Started
- Open Data Studio (datastudio.google.com) and click Create → Data Source
- Search for "Facebook Ads Analytics (LQ Analytics)" in the connector gallery and select it
- Click Authorize and log in with your Facebook account — grant the ads_read and ads_management permissions when prompted
- Select the Ad Account you want to report on from the dropdown
- Click Connect— all 60+ metrics and dimensions are now available in your report
Common Issues
Ensure you are logged into the correct Google and Facebook (Meta) accounts. Try disconnecting and re-authorizing the connector from within the Data Studio data source settings.
This usually means your Facebook account is not linked to a Business Portfolio with active Ad Accounts. Check that:
- Your Facebook account has access to at least one active Business Manager
- The Ad Accounts within that Business have an active status (not disabled)
- You accepted all permission prompts during the OAuth authorization step
Check the following:
- Your API permissions are correctly granted — try re-authorizing the connector
- The selected Ad Account has ran active campaigns in the chosen date range
- Your user role in Facebook Business Manager has at least "View Performance" access
Facebook Ads data has an approximate 24-hour delay. If your selected date range includes today, try changing the end date to yesterday. The connector automatically adjusts for this, but Data Studio's cached data source may need a manual refresh.
Verify that your user role in Facebook Business Manager has "View Performance" access on the relevant Ad Account. Admin or Advertiser roles are recommended for full data access.
Connector Troubleshooting
If the connector fails to load or return data, try these steps in order:
- Re-authenticate your account: open the data source in Data Studio, click Edit Connection, and go through the authorization flow again.
- Check if the data source is active and not disabled by an account manager in Facebook Business Manager.
- Ensure you granted all requested permissions (
ads_read,ads_management) during the OAuth popup — partial grants will prevent data from loading. - If you recently changed Facebook account passwords or revoked app permissions, you will need to re-authorize the connector. Go to Facebook Settings → Security → Apps and Websites and remove the LQ Analytics app, then re-connect from Data Studio.
